Campground Accommodation in Australia
There are many types of Campground Accommodation in Australia.

Free Campgrounds - There are surprisingly a large number of these around Australia. Most of them are either parking bays, mostly along main highway in remote or outback areas, or camping areas set aside on public or private land usually along waterways or lakes or in scenic areas. Very few have facilities although some do have pit toilets, occassionally proper toilet facilities have been installed. Some have woodfire bbq facilities, few have gas bbqs, very few have water supplies.
Private Campgrounds -
Many private properties have Campgrounds run by the owners. These campgrounds can be booked by contacting the owners and do have varying levels of facilities.Costs Vary,
Public Campgrounds - Usually run by local councils. These camping areas often have an honour box system for payment or a booking system. Facilities vary.
National Park Campgrounds - Some National Parks and Conservation Parks around Australia have camping Areas, these may vary from designated Campgrounds to camping areas within the park, and facilities may vary from none to very good ammenities with showers and hot water.
